Sarah Margaret Stitcher, LPC, ATR-BC

Sarah Margaret Stitcher is a Board-Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She completed her bachelors in 2006 from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama and her Masters of Education is in Counseling and Art Therapy from the University of Louisville in 2009. Sarah Margaret joined McAllaster & Associates in March 2021 with a focus on providing services for children, teens and young adults on topics such as self-esteem, spirituality, healthy peer relationships, family dynamics and managing symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

Sarah Margaret has been trained to apply art therapy techniques on a case-by-case basis, based on clinical presentation and treatment goals. She describes art therapy as a way to think outside the box and a way to represent that which is going on inside or outside of oneself. It’s a form of expression that focuses on the process and experience of art making and less on the product.

Sarah Margaret strives to create a comfortable, understanding, and non-judgmental environment for individuals to be heard and to explore their concerns. Her approach in counseling is person-centered with emphasis on treating each client with dignity and respect, seeking ways to empower them, offering support and resources to overcome obstacles and meet their goals.
